Want to get in touch? That's great. Here's some FAQ's first:

-- WHO ARE MURICA?

Primarily we are 2 guys, Ben and Josh - Ryan also appears on every song playing the bass. We also work with other musicians based on what a given song might need - Josh generally does the inception of a song idea, writes the lyrics (and sings them) and Ben will produce it, add drums/guitar/synth etc. then when it's nearly done Ryan will lay the Bass down. We'll usually draft in help from friends if there's something we can't do, like add a trumpet part, an insane solo beyond our primitive capabilities or a super deep voice!

-- WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME?

It turns out that naming yourself after one of the most popular cities in the world and expecting to stand out ANYWHERE online was a bit of a mistake – you become just about impossible to find on any website and doesn’t do much for your SEO either. Why ‘Murica’? It’s just about completely unique with no other bands/companies found so far with the same name and we like the sound of the word. It also handily has 6 letters meaning existing album covers etc are easily updated! And some of you are probably thinking, “But doesn’t it sound like an American shouting ‘MURICA!’?”.. The answer is probably yes, but equally we don’t care. It was a tough decision to make as it means that we have to start again with a lot of the progress we’ve made so far on things like Spotify, followers, subscribers and so on. All the numbers are going to take a massive nose-dive but is necessary if we want to take any more steps forward with our music.

-- CAN WE BOOK YOU FOR A GIG?

We tried but sadly, we don't gig any more. Basically this is because Murica is only a couple of people who play every instrument you hear in a studio environment so to start gigging properly means getting others in who are happy to only play our songs and not write any - this is harder to do than it sounds. So a year or so ago, we decided to make a decision. Faced with choosing playing gigs or making new music, we chose making music as it lasts forever.

-- BUT WE'D REEEEEALLLYY LIKE TO BOOK YOU

-- ARE YOU A SIGNED BAND?

No. Thus far we're completely independent, and we like it that way. While we're not exactly megastars, we do like the fact that everything is done 'in house', right from the scratch demo's upon the inception of a new song, right the way through to deciding what songs make it to an album, how many there will be, when to release and artwork design. It's hard work but a labour of love.

That said we always consider what people have to say, and maybe we just haven't had the right offer yet.

-- WHERE DO YOU RECORD YOUR MUSIC?

Ben has a poky home studio somewhere near leicestershire that we use to churn out the tunes. It's hard work but it's worth it.
